Grace J. Gobbo, 2007 Women of Discovery Awardee for Field Research and 9 other members of the 2009 class of Emerging Explorers were introduced at the annual Explorers Symposium in Washington D.C. in June.

Nearly 300 guests gathered at the Tribeca Rooftop in New York City on Tuesday April 28th to honor five extraordinary women explorers and welcome them into the WINGS Fellows program.
The evening was led by Bertha Coombs of CNBC. Awards were presented by Uma Thurman, Co-Honorary Chairt; Ted Janulis, Co-Honorary Chair; Anthony Edwards, Actor and Board Chair of Shoe4Africa; Robert Thurman President of Tibet House.
